The Consortium Leaders Prof. Dr. Markus L\u00f6ffler (SMITH) and Prof. Dr. Hans-Ulrich Prokosch (MIRACUM), as well as representatives of the Trust Center of the Greifswald University Medical School (THS Greifswald), have confirmed their will to work together on data protection issues in an Letter of Intent. The MIRACUM site in Greifswald will provide software tools as work results for SMITH for subsequent use and support SMITH in their practical use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the context of the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.medizininformatik-initiative.de\/\" target=\"_blank\">Medical Informatics Initiative<\/a>&nbsp;(MII), the preservation of data protection and the associated topics such as record linkage, pseudonymization and consent management are of central importance. The&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.medizininformatik-initiative.de\/de\/konsortien\/smith\" target=\"_blank\">SMITH<\/a>&nbsp;Consortium provides for corresponding components in its reference architecture of a Data Integration Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the MII, the THS Greifswald, as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medizininformatik-initiative.de\/de\/konsortien\/miracum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MIRACUM<\/a>&nbsp;partner, already provides various tools for setting up trust centre solutions as building blocks of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.miracum.org\/news\/comprehensive-update-a-fresh-breeze-sweeps-the-miracolix-toolbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MIRACOLIX toolbox<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The software tools&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ths-greifswald.de\/gpas\" target=\"_blank\">gPAS<\/a>\u00ae and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ths-greifswald.de\/gics\" target=\"_blank\">gICS<\/a>\u00ae fit well with the reference architecture in SMITH and fulfil the technical requirements of the consortium. The tools gPAS\u00ae and gICS\u00ae will therefore be used for the pseudonymization and consent management components of the reference architecture of the SMITH Data Integration Centers. Within the framework of the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ths-greifswald.de\/forscher\/community\/dialog\/\" target=\"_blank\">THS community dialogue<\/a>&nbsp;organized by the Greifswald partner, there is a joint exchange on the software tools with the aim of promoting the broad use of these tools in the MII and other projects, e.g. NUM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Networking and harmonisation of infrastructures in collaborative medical research is taking place in a very practical way.
